There are no customer accounts and no online ordering system. Purchase inquiries are sent by email. A form is available for subscribing to the AKO newsletter.

Cloudflare Web Analytics uses a JavaScript beacon to collect usage and performance metrics. According to Cloudflare, Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage technologies such as localStorage, does not create individual or cross-site user profiles, and does not use IP addresses or browser information to identify individual visitors.

Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not collect or use visitors’ personal data. The processing of IP addresses required for technical transmission and hosting takes place independently as described above.

To the extent that personal data is nevertheless processed in connection with Web Analytics, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to understand and improve the use, reach, loading speed, technical stability and usability of our website.

Where Cloudflare processes personal data on our behalf, this takes place under a data-processing agreement.

Cloudflare is based in the United States and uses subcontractors operating worldwide. Processing of personal data outside the European Economic Area therefore cannot be ruled out.

Where applicable, Cloudflare relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for transfers to the United States. For other transfers, Cloudflare’s Data Processing Addendum provides for the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses under Article 46(2)(c) GDPR and supplementary safeguards.

According to Cloudflare, Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage technologies such as localStorage to measure website use.

This website itself does not use analytics, marketing or profiling cookies.

Cloudflare may set cookies required for technically necessary security and delivery functions. Where such cookies are used, they are used under Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG.

The related processing of personal data is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable provision of the website.

If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide. This may include your name, email address, the requested object and the contents of your message.

We process this information to respond to your purchase inquiry, confirm availability and arrange a showroom viewing. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

General inquiries are processed under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is responding to business inquiries.

Providing this information is voluntary. Without contact details and the information required to handle your request, however, we cannot process your inquiry.

Please note that ordinary email is generally not end-to-end encrypted.

If you subscribe to the AKO newsletter through the form, we process your email address, the date and time of subscription and confirmation, and the wording and status of your consent.

We use Brevo to provide the form, manage the recipient list and send the newsletter. The provider for customers in Germany is Brevo GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany. Brevo processes the data on our behalf under a data-processing agreement pursuant to Article 28 GDPR.

The data is processed solely to send the AKO newsletter on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Registration becomes effective only after confirmation of the email address through the double-opt-in procedure. You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect using the unsubscribe link in every newsletter or by emailing objects@allenkaufmann.de.

As a thank-you for a confirmed newsletter subscription, a complimentary AKO postcard may be collected in person from the AKO showroom during the Archive Sale. We do not collect a postal address for the postcard and do not ship it.

Unconfirmed registrations are deleted once they are no longer required for confirmation. Confirmed email addresses are stored until consent is withdrawn. Evidence of consent or withdrawal may be retained for the applicable statutory evidence and limitation periods.

Personal data is received only by persons and service providers who require it for the stated purposes. These include, in particular, our hosting and analytics provider Cloudflare and our email service provider Brevo.

Any further disclosure takes place only where required to process your inquiry, perform a contract, comply with a legal obligation or protect legitimate interests.

We store personal data only for as long as required for the relevant purpose or by statutory retention obligations.

Email inquiries that do not lead to a contract are deleted once the inquiry has been fully handled and there are no legal or business reasons for further retention.

The retention periods described in Section 7 also apply to newsletter data.

Depending on the type of document, statutory retention periods of six, eight or ten years apply to business and tax-relevant records. Data may also be retained where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We do not create our own access logs or individual user profiles. According to Cloudflare, non-aggregated beacon data is stored for seven days and then aggregated for longer-term storage. Data shown in the Web Analytics dashboard is currently available for the preceding six months. The retention of other technically necessary data by Cloudflare is governed by the contractual settings and Cloudflare’s applicable retention rules.

This website contains links to external websites. Data is transmitted to the respective provider only when you open such a link. The operator of the external website is responsible for processing personal data there.

Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right to:

• access your stored personal data
• rectification of inaccurate data
• erasure of your data
• restriction of processing
• data portability
• object to processing

Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object to that processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
